Tentsile treetent
The Tentsile Safari Connect tent is the accommodation base, with sleeping accommodation for two people. The tent is anchored between three trees and is just over a metre off the ground. There is a dry space under the tent for storing equipment. The outer fabric of the tent provides protection from water. In fine weather, the fabric can be removed and you can admire the scenery under the mosquito net. The tent has a load capacity of 400kg.

The tent comes with an insulating sleeping pad, so there is no need for separate pads.

Your own island
The location of this Tentsile tent has also been carefully chosen. The tent is located on its own island called Merkkuusaari. The island is 115 metres long and 65 metres wide and is a special island in the shape of the letter K. The island is located in the upper reaches of the Jyrkänkoski river. The name of the island dates back to the days when logs were floated in the wide riverbed. The island is mainly covered with pine trees.

Recreational opportunities
The nearby terrain is ideal for hiking, cycling, jogging, swimming, mushroom picking and berry picking. The 30 km Volokinpolku hiking trail starts nearby. It is possible to rent a hot tub, kayaks, canoes and SUP-boats from Ruuki dove-house. Jyrkänkoski is a fisherman's paradise and the surrounding areas are suitable for trout fishing.

Drinking water
Drinking water is available from the sauna building.

Sauna and bathing
The rental of this Tentsile tent includes the use of the lakeside sauna. The sauna is located on the mainland side. The sauna has washing and bathing facilities.

Outhouse latrine
An outhouse latrine is available.

Dining
You can prepare your meals on the covered barbecue shelter. The shelter has a fridge, so you can store your own food and drinks there. Please bring your own cutlery. Food and drinks are also available at the Ruukin Tuva Pub and café.
At the café you can bring fresh doughnuts and coffee, food, fishing permits, fishing rods and flies.

First aid supplies
The basic equipment of the Tentsile tent includes a first aid kit and a headlamp. We have compiled important phone numbers and tent location information in the tent manual for emergency situations.

Personal guidance
The staff at the Ruuk tent will guide and welcome you. The staff will guide you through the use of the tent and provide you with the necessary equipment.

Accessibility
Accommodation is not accessible.

Check in and arrival
You will be accommodated in your tent around 18:00. Please arrive early, as there is plenty to see and do at the Ruukin Tupa and Jyrkän Ruukki area even if you can't get to the tent yet.

The tent and equipment will be delivered by 12 noon the next day.

Ensure also that you are carrying the following personal utensils:

• warm clothing, e.g., woollen underwear and sweater woollen socks

• woollen cap gloves

• personal toiletries

What we expect from you
We expect you to take care of the cleanliness of the tent, its accessories and the nature surrounding the tent. The tent and all accessories must be handed over in the same condition and cleaned as they were.
